They are a delight

Gingham dresses do bring back many memories for grown up schoolgirls today

Just right sir, my sister and I both wore dresses exactly like those. Those knickers were a bit skimpy compared to ours though. ours came to just the tops of our thighs and formed like a cuff as you have shown in your postings. They were horrid and itchy but very useful when playing out as we could tuck the dresses into the legs so we did not show anything we shouldn't when doing the usual gymnastic things girls did ie hand stands etc. Very usefull for holding spare balls at tennis too, it just fitted in the cuff and held there.

Ooops just read that last post and I would have got a hard smack on the legs for missing that capital on 'ours'. Oooo brings back the memories. Mum taught English and dad taught History and Classics. Mum was very strict on Spelling and punctuation.
